The reason they told me was - 'post was offensive'.
"In bengaluru, among the linguistic minorities, Tamils are singled out in their hate campaign by some local Kannada chauvinist groups. However, the popular perception of an average Kannadiga too goes against Tamils. Mallus, Andhraites, Urdu muslims, Marwaris, Jains & other Hindi people are not touched... Why?"
Please let me know whether this post was offensive or not. dear ryzers, please help me with your kind opinion - I greatly appreciate.Private Reply to Swetha Mourougane | Sep 29, 2008 4:04 am | | re: 'Offensive' or not? | # | Vijay Nair | | Swetha,
To begin with, every forum has its own set of rules on what is offensive and what is not. Therefore, it would have entirely depended on which forum you had posted the message on.
Secondly, in what context and in response to what, the message had been posted would become relevant as well.
Without getting drawn into the controversy, as a friend, all I can advice is that the Kannadiga-Tamil issue has overflown Cauvery's banks. Whatever we see is arising from a particular issue based conception and mis-conception. Perhaps, your message, in the moderator's opinion, would have led to incitement of emotions on the particular network, which he wanted to avoid.
As a moderator of this network, I would not like to discuss the rules of conduct of other networks or actions taken by other moderators. It is best to settle an issue where in arose.
Hope you understand.
Regards,
Vijay
