It's good that you are hungrier than ever but its quite naive to assume that only you people are slogging it out...when I was appearing in my CS finals I was also doing my law degree apart from teaching full time in one college & as a visiting faculty in another + doing CS training.
'austerity, self-contentment, serenity, balance, family-life, these words have either become obsolete or their use is considered to be a mere excuse to hide one's inability & incompetency to survive in this competitve world.'
~~These are the saddest words ive ever heard...you are confusing the means with the ends...success in life is to be achieved in order to get 'austerity, self-contentment, serenity, balance, family-life'..if these are not important to one then i dunno what is cos life is made up of these only, these are the only worthwhile things to have after everything is said n done...otherwise the success will ring hollow very soon...n words like 'survive in this competitve world.'are used only by conformists who are too scared to make their own path....nothing very great or glorious or unique about these.
Anyways my so called advice was very tentative n i really don't mind if you find it totally useless n don't use any of it...cos every person learns in life by her/his experience only ...ughhh i dunno how the discussion on recession reached here but reach here it did.
Yup 'its time to stay put n fight'...so all i'll say now is all the best...may you get whatever you set out to achieve.
