~~Yup & nope...he wins the case, a monumental one alrite but leaves it all to become a farmer not a faculty member...hey c'mmon the job of being a faculty aint that simple that you can call it giving up all :-p...in fact becoming a faculty is not giving up all but getting into all...I told you about the good part of teaching...but then again there's a big part of it which is very ugly...here you can find people with the biggest egoes (in a very bad sort of way) & petty bahavior...ego (bad waala ego...there's another good waala healthy ego )+ pettiness + lots of time hanging in hands makes people's personality seriously fucked up & an environment which can't give you the feel of that you've given it up all...& then there are issues like a fool with a ph.d. is > a non ph.d who can actually teach very well....it requires Rudy Baylor like survival instincts ( chatting with oneself to keep amused when the environment becomes too shitty to respond in any other way) to survive in the hallowed halls of academics.
Partha why don't you do a survey n ask the lawyers present here how bad the recession has actually hit them if at all?? Will give you more first hand information about the impact of current scenario...I mean I keep hearing about recission but so far personally I've not felt any impact ( so far being the key word here)...if it wasn't for the newspapers I wouldn't have known that there's a slowing down in economy etc.

Nopes Partha, people only try to be helpful here ...only that it can sometimes look like they are ripping one apart but they have only good intentions ( isn't everyone replying to your query so enthusiastically & earnestly??; Do you think we are being paid for it?? just kidding...so the wise thing is to take up whatever is useful & maybe just enjoy(?) reading the other stuff & then ignoring it.)...maybe the view can be drastic ...you can accuse Ryzers of lotsa silly n bizarre behavior but being mean aint one of them, me thinks.Private Reply to Ritu (new win) |
